I was a doctors kid and went to a private school. I showed other doctors kids that if you stick the needle in soap to clog it and then replace needle part lightly then when you plunge the needle will shoot across the room and stick into the wall.

I'd get them on occasion from my doctor in the '70s. They handed them out pretty freely back then to keep kids amused. Never took them to school, though. That would have gotten them confiscated pretty quickly.

Yeah, my dad was on insulin and would occasionally give me one of his syringes (with the needle broken off) to play with for the same reason as the kids in the OP. We only stopped doing it when dumb kid me wanted to play with a friend with one, and she told her parents I was playing with needles. Friends parents went up to mine and basically accused us all of being drug addicts and that they were going to call CPS on us.

We would play a game called "big people" and pretend to be drug dealers/mafia. We had a suitcase with fake money,drugs and guns and would pretend to conduct business. Using discarded paperwork/mail from my mom.

We did this as kids in The Netherlands well into the 90s. You'd find discarded syringes around trees, near dead end streets or on the back side of buildings where people shoot up away from sight. Haven't seen one in a while now, seems those little whippet tubes replaced em.

I am Canadian, lived in a shitty spot in a mid sized city. Right at the edge of our street it went uphill and on the other side of the hill is where the other city "started", so in between there was an unused rail line on this hill, and some abandoned construction projects (they basically did all the digging and stopped). Well when we were kids (early 2000's), we would often go on mini adventures with the neighborhood kids and play around on the rail line or the forested area in the hill. One day we walked along the rails and decided to jump in the big old pit they dug, and inside one of the kids found some used needles and was chasing everyone trying to prick them... Was not a fun time

We did exactly the same in the outskirts of Rome, Italy, in the late 80s. Used syringes found on the ground. I don't know why but I remember this with embarrassment.

I was a kid in London around these times; you'd find them in parks, abandoned buildings etc anywhere junkies would hide to shoot up ... i remember playing with them myself. You're right about the needle being present too ... thats why he gets such a good stream off the shot (its too small for the capacity to create similar force without the needle)

Gramps used to shoot up some insulin at the table then break off the needle for us to have squirt guns. I miss that man, he was the best.

I remember at school someone had the smart idea of using their compass to pierce a hole in the top of their water bottle and it caught on and people would squirt other people in the halls and in lessons etc. Teachers caught on so we would carry a regular cap and one with holes in so when the teacher came we'd pull the old switch-a-roo. Good times.
