Apparently he was very uncomfortable durring this whole event. It was not his idea.

This doesn't surprise me. Great legs though.

Did he do it throughout the game? If so the joke is over after the first quarter then you’d just be standing there the rest of the time. For him and as fast as his brain moved I’m sure it was more than uncomfortable.
It was for an episode of Mork and Mindy. His discomfort was from doing a dumb stunt to try and keep ratings up for a show that was practically dead at that point.

Season 2, episode 13, Hold that Mork. The storyline was Nelson, Mindy's cousin, tries to further his political career by getting Mork the opportunity to try out to be a Denver Broncos cheerleader. In the show he runs out on the field with the Pony Express but has stage fright and runs right back off the field. The photo was taken on November 11, 1979 during an actual Denver Broncos game against the Patriots in front of more than 74,000 fans at Mile High Stadium.

> Mindy's cousin, tries to further his political career by getting Mork the opportunity to try out to be a Denver Broncos cheerleader Makes sense
> 明迪的表弟,为了给自己的政治生涯铺路,找机会让莫克去参加丹佛野马队啦啦队的选拔。
说得通。

That’s some solid ‘70s / ‘80s sitcom logic if I ever heard it.

I was an adult and a TV watcher in the 70s, trapped at home with young children. Compared to what we have now it was abysmal. Everything from horrible soundtracks to crappy obvious jokes and slapstick done badly. Looking back I think it was that all the people in charge were high on cocaine. Really makes me mad because those were some of my best years.
Edit: By “best years” I mean that I was in my 20s and full of energy and ideas. I would’ve loved a Game of Thrones. I never touched cocaine or knew anyone who did.
And script re-usage. Same shit change the character names.

Give him some more cocaine and he'd be fine.
You just summarized what I came here to say. I think Robin, like Carlin, was funnier after he quit cocaine though.

The stage show where they put him on stage with a trunk full of props is epic. He was doing orbital speed in that one.

Holy fuck dude. I loved catching that on comedy central growing up. As a kid I thought he just had crazy energy... As an adult I know that dude must have railed half of Los Angeles blow before coming on!
I know he was an avid cyclist later in his life. But judging by the size of his quads - my guess is he also did some cycling back in the days of the photo. edit: Heh, not exactly, but some athletics involved. > **Q: Let me guess, you turned 16, and ditched your bike for a car …** > **RW:** Right! I don’t pick up a bike again ’til I’m like 35, 38. I was a cross-country, long-distance runner all through high school, growing up in Marin. Cross-country running was so beautiful with all the trails and the lake regions … very physical and also a bit spiritual, where you could come over the mountain and all of a sudden you’d see a Buddhist landscape fog coming in … even a lone eagle going: (Indian chief voice) “Where have you been? There is much here to speak of with a white man.” > **Q: How about your rediscovery of the bike?** > **RW:** Running became harder on the back, the legs, ankles … they’re going (funny whisper voice) “You’re older! Hey this hurts … buzz off!” And then, I saw this bike in a store in New York. I was shooting “Awakenings,” I had a full beard, and I bought this gorgeous Kestrel bike. And, my first pair of clipless pedals, and that was *my* big awakening, clipping in them and then not being able to get out, and then lying on the ground like the Tin Woodsman, “Help me! No, no not there … here! By the feet! Clip me out!” (jive voice) ‘Man, you done!’ > And then riding it in Central Park. It was so … so freeing, that all of sudden you could ride for an hour, whereas running for an hour would just devastate you, and you could ride for an hour and get this endorphin buzz and yet still can walk! Then it started, the other bikes, I went, “Wait a minute, that’s pretty, but that one’s prettier!” and then this fixation with buying … and I have to admit it, I love them. I mean I collect ‘em. https://www.velonews.com/news/love-bicycles-2003-interview-robin-williams/
I think it was CNN's "The 70's" that I learned this (Netflix). It was definitely a documentary of some kind. I remember shots of Robin looking quite uncomfortable. This was durring the Mork and Mindy hype. Someone basically said "Hey, you're goofy. How about we put you in a skirt and throw you in front of a bunch of football fans!"

Knowing football fans (or fans from many other sports) I don't doubt he was made to feel uncomfortable, yeah.
I like how they fired her because she was against these ideas that they didn’t implement anyway following her firing. It reminds of that scene in Schindler’s list with the foreman of construction. “Ve’re not here to have arguments vith these people. Shoot her” “Ok now tear it down and rebuild it just like she said”
I don't know that we ever really got an explanation for why she was fired sadly.

I'm old enough to have been watching this game in 1979. I believe the game was televised on NBC (most Sunday AFC games were), and Mork and Mindy was on ABC. During halftime when the camera was on the booth there was a sudden roar from the crowd. At first the sportscasters tried to ignore it, but it went on for a while and finally they said something like "there's a man on the field pretending to be a cheerleader, and the crowed is pretty unhappy". The was odd because the crowd did not sound unhappy. It wasn't until some of the footage was used Mork and Mindy did I realized that NBC was ignoring it because what was essentially an ad for a rival network.
In a ven diagram showing where overlaps with actual porn, this is in the center.

Good thing they wore tighty whities back then or that skirt was on the fast track to Schlongsville.

In his stand comedy show, "Robin Williams: Live at the Met", which would have my vote for the greatest stand up show of all time hands down, he reminisces about his time doing Mork & Mindy summarizing it with one sentence, "Sorry, I don't remember pretty much the entire experience, I spent the entire time so high on cocaine that I remember that it ended and I needed to find another source of income before I run out". Sad commentary from one of the most complete entertainers of all time.
Bears a striking resemblance to early 1980's era Bono.

I miss that sonofabitch. If he were still with us, I know he would keep us all laughing. He’d turn his depression and sadness into humor and joy as he took all of our stress and sadness all back on him.
