I wish he would have done a crossover episode with Mister Rogers.

That comment could be read two ways though. He could be trying to say that love is not finite, therefore his love affair with his secretary and that thing that happens at the glory hole don't diminish his love for his wife.

Considering how popular both those men were at the same time, I'm honestly a little surprised that didn't happen. Sure is nice to think about though.

There has to be a episode where Rogers teaches a kid to paint, I'm sure with some dedicated cgi and editing someone might be able to make it happen.

OnlyRacistOnReddit35 赞2018/6/1
This needs to happen. Bob Ross already took down Pablo Picasso and Mr Rogers took down Mr T... It should be epic.
SawedOffLaser46 赞2018/6/1
Bob Ross and Mr Rogers would spend the whole battle complimenting each other and beimg friendly. I'd watch it.
Kaprak18 赞2018/6/1
Realistically they team up after one verse each to deal with a larger threat, a bully who could use a hot slice of patience and compassion.

llewkeller27 赞2018/6/1
That would have been fantastic! I've told this before - I grew up in the 1960s in a backward suburb of LA. PBS (then called "NET" for National Educational Television) was on channel 28, and our old TV didn't have a UHF tuner. About '67, they decided to get cable, so we finally got 28. They were very excited about getting NET. I was less enthused. But the first thing we tuned in with our new cable equipped TV was Bob Ross. I was enthralled. To me at age 13, watching anything else on NET was like watching paint dry, but Bob Ross was cool!

bridgeheadprod29 赞2018/6/1
How come people keep saying this? ______ "we didn't deserve"..... Give yourself a bit more credit man.
GeneralTonic18 赞2018/6/1
The cynicism clouds everything. I think the same people reflexively say "I hate people" in response to the latest isolated report of disgusting abuse. I wish they would qualify that statement just a bit. I mean, "people" is a pretty broad category, and it includes Bob Ross, Mister Rogers, and my grandpa.
FuckGiblets15 赞2018/6/1
Sometime I watch Bob Ross when I'm really hungover. When I'm in that very delicate emotional hangover he has on more than one occasion made me literally cry just because of the sweetness he exudes. He was amazing. <3

Bongzillaz67 赞2018/6/2
Honestly watching these old shows with twitch chat is so enjoyable. Bob Ross is number one but every once in a while they will show MxC, Red Green Show (with red greens nephew who worked on the show in chat, no not Harold.), and I've seen yugioh and power rangers among others streamed there.

Some fun Bob Ross facts: * Bob Ross got a perm when he was still a starving artist, because it was cheaper than frequent haircuts. Once he found success, his manager wouldn't let him change his hairstyle because it was such a key part of his brand. He always hated that. * Bob Ross made three copies of every painting. The first is always off\-camera, as a reference. The second is the one you see him paint. The third, he painted after taping, while his assistant took snapshots of each step for his how\-to books. * Bob Ross donated all of his on\-air paintings to local PBS stations, to use as auctions for their fundraisers.
ladykansas792 赞2018/6/2
Sad fact: He died when he was only 52 from lymphoma. In my teens, that seemed old ... Now that my parents are considerably older than that and still seem like they are in the prime of their life, 50s seems so young! Great guy that brought so much joy to so many.
njbair294 赞2018/6/2
Especially considering he spent 20 years in the military before he ever started his painting empire. Even more sad, his wife died in 1993, not long before his death, also from cancer.
rita_pizza114 赞2018/6/2
What's more is that after his wife died from cancer, his dog died from a broken heart because it missed her so much.

I read that the reason why he always giggled when he beat the devil out of those brushes was because it flung a lot of the thinner towards the camera and crew, and they always recoiled in an extremely exaggerated manner as an in-joke.

Lots of celebrities own businesses and rarely set foot in the actual building. They pay people to manage the day to day responsibilities and typically make major business decisions from afar. It's pretty reasonable for Granny to ask that question, even in the 90s.

The world has more like him. Lots more. Good, kind people making uplifting and educational content for free for everyone on YouTube, Twitch, and in the podcasting world. I try to make a habit of sharing those people whenever I can. Here are some: - Matt Mercer: Dungeon Master for Critical Role, wherein nerdy voice actors play D&D and support an amazing charity. Matt is one of the sweetest, kindest human beings on Earth... Presumably because he gets out all his stress destroying the players' characters. - Chris Hadfiel: Astronaut. Philanthropist. Canadian. Need I say more? - The McElroy brothers: Podcasters and all around good humans who make exactly the kind of light-hearted (although sometimes also deeply emotional and touching) content out there. Car Boys and The Adventure Zone are personal favorites. - Hank and John Green: Educational and moving YouTube videos and podcasts about life, the universe, and our place in it. Honest, generous, and positive. - Bill Gates: Systematically donating 90% of his wealth to charity via a foundation that specifically seeks the most effective way to improve life for the world's poorest people. Now, you probably have heard of all of these people, and that's kind of my point. The world is full of amazing people who make it a better place. Sometimes we just need a bit of a reminder of that. But hey, more couldn't hurt. Be the change. I hope you have a great day.

When I was still in grade school my mom used to watch Bob and she learned a lot from watching his show. She had natural talent and dreamed as a young girl of going to art school. However she came from a large family in a small mining town in Northern Ontario in the 1960s so she couldn't afford college. She ended up being a stay at home mom for three boys and went on to work for a school board, as a legal secretary and finally as an insurance adjustor. She continued to paint in her spare time but she never considered herself an artist. She died of lung cancer in 2013 at the age of 62. Every time I see a picture of Bob I remember reading or playing with my toys while she painted along with him in our living room. Happy memories of happy little accidents.
