Yeah, I can't even imagine how it was back then. My great-great-grandma was the first person to have a dual hip replacement in the 1920s because she was born without fully formed hip sockets. They didn't even have antibiotics, so it's a miracle she survived. They must have done something right because she lived until she was 93 years old and never had them replaced again.

Thank you, yes she did. She was my namesake and very sweet, and was a career nurse at LA General in Los Angeles.
