Or an uncle or grandfather. Or even an important village elder or whatever. Plus, was it common for men to be at the hospital during childbirth at all in those days? I’m not defending the guy whatsoever. You’re right that it probably was him. But there’s a good chance it was someone else too. You're misinterpreting the statement. "A lack of evidence doesn't prove innocence" simply means absence of proof isn't the same as proof of innocence, nothing more. It doesn’t suggest wrongful convictions are acceptable. The legal system rightly requires proof of guilt, but that doesn't mean every unproven case establishes innocence.

I looked up the Wiki for this and apparently she had a C-section under sedation. Thank goodness, as I can't imagine the horror of giving birth at 5. Some full grown women have lingering trauma from birth. Interestingly enough, she is still alive at 91, but her son died at 40 in 1979 due to bone marrow disease. Amazing the physical trauma she went through, just to outlive her baby by well over 2x. Sadly, her abuser was never discovered. Her father was suspected, but there was no evidence. I'm sure today it'd be easy to find out with a DNA test, but her father is certainly long gone as well as the baby, who likely died early from being the product of incest.

I’m astonished at the ignorance of some commenters here. I can’t tell if some of them are rage baiting or what, but an entire comment thread of someone incapable of conceiving that this is medically possible and then after many comments finally accepting it but then questioning why a child would have sex instead of making the obvious connection of rape is so strange to me. What’s even stranger is that it’s not just one off commenter, but numerous accounts. And the strange person who was (I think?) trying to make a transgender joke about the girl (but I honestly can’t tell since it’s still quite incoherent in context…)

This is one of the saddest cases I ever read. Child molesters are evilest of the scum and deserve a wicked punishment. I remember when there used to be a bunch of pedo sympathizers on this app. I had to log off for sometime cause it was the sickest shit I ever read.
