I was thinking how rare it is to see photos from this era of women with their hair down. It almost makes it seem more current than it is.

That looks like the illustrations I have seen of a bathing dress and it would explain her hair being down.

I am and I know it, thank you! The little baby sitting in the picture, my grandma, was an absolute trip. Many years ago she decided that any time a family photo was taken she was going to give the middle finger along with a big fat grin. So now that's a thing and we have a bunch of family photographs over the years where we're all doing it 😂

Yes, they just look so happy. I love that it's your grandma staring up at them. I would put this on my wall and they aren't even my relatives.

My family from that era are always looking so grim. I’ve almost never seen expressions like this in old pictures. I guess it must have been depressing living before color came into the world. 😀 Thanks for sharing.

This is a beautiful photo! Glad the fun spirit has been passed down :) There's something about it...that almost seems like it could be in the present day. Esp your great aunt-- her hair wouldn't be out of place/dated now. Not sure if it's just because they are smiling, or the crisp quality of the photo, but there's something about it that seems like it was taken just yesterday...
