Enrolled/raised Indigenous person who is 1/4th Ashkenazi (father’s side btw) here: Jewish people are amazing and beautiful and resilient, and yes Israel is pretty much the opposite now, but the current government and leadership of Israel do not represent true Judaism. Jewish people are Israel but Israel is not speaking or acting for all Jewish people. Zionism is not true to Judaism. Plenty of qualified rabbis have said this aloud, only to be ostracized and mocked by Israelis. Criticizing Israel is not anti-Semitic, but being racist towards Jewish people is DEFINITELY racist.

This comment section is proof that anti-Semitism is cyclical and never ending. It rears its ugly head periodically, and has done so for thousands of years. And people who often claim to be not anti-Semitic, the ones who say "Oh I have Jewish friends" and "oh the Holocaust was so horrible" are the same ones who say Jews today should not have the right to national self-determination or a claim to the land their ancestors inhabited thousands of years ago before they were forcibly conquered, enslaved, or expelled. Some are just ignorant of history, others have anti-Semitic views engrained into their consciousness without even realizing it. Even "progressives" are chanting "We are Hamas" and "We are Hezbollah" at their "protests". How fucked up is that, self-identifying with literal terrorists.

Germany went from an extreme to another : From persecuting and killing Jews to support Israel whose government is killing Palestinians. Antisemitism just like any form of discrimination is unacceptable, but supporting Israel no matter what even if they are doing something evil is unacceptable as well.
