Definitely a Datsun (Nissan) Z; although my thing is their trucks and not their cars, this is a Z from 1970* through 1982, as that California blue and yellow plate was only issued between those years. EDIT: meant to say 1970* through 82, and thanks for the replies.

Lower valence lights and bumpers put this as a 240z or early model 260z. So up to the early model 1974. They removed the front marker lights from the tin in the late model 260z and beefed up the bumpers.

My dad was one of the chillest dudes ever, loved motorcycles and a nice cigar on the weekends. He worked at a all girls college as a security guard then was in law enforcement for almost 30 years.

Nah, my mom did the same with my dad's motorcycles after us kids were born. Not uncommon. Unfortunately, my dad passed away 10 years ago now. Great memories of not riding motorcycles! Just stories of my dad being a badass.

The Datsun 240Z was a very nice sports car in the early ‘80’s. Datsun offered a refurbish program in the late ‘90’s. 👍 The 90’s replacement was the 300ZX.
